Public Meeting Thursday 11 November 6.30 pm Hendon Town Hall

I missed the Council's advertisment for the public meeting to provide input to proposed budget cuts and only found out today that is taking place next week. I want to make sure that no one misses the opportunity to have their say. If people sit at home on their backsides then they can't come back in 12 months time and moan when services are cut. The meeting on the 11 November (6.30pm-8.30pm at Hendon Town Hall) is your chance to say what you think about the budget cuts, so make sure you are there. If people do not turn up that will be seen as a green light to go ahead with so many cuts to services. Please come along!

  2. Thank you Councillor for your comment but please be aware that the on line survey is exceptionally difficult to complete, is laced with leading questions and will be exceptionally difficult to analyse given the high number of open questions. For example you ask people if they agree with your priorities but you do not include the full list of priorities you initially considered. As such people will not know if the priorities are appropriate because they are only presented with the one you have already chosen. The language used in the questions is technical and obscure to council outsiders. You ask for suggestions on specific departments yet I am sure that many people do not understand what activities are carried out by different departments. It took me 40 minutes to complete the survey properly referring backwards and forwards between the individual budget sheet click throughs.
